Everyday Mindful Mantras for Minis: Mindfulness for Kids by Erin Marrazzo, is a wonderful book with simple, yet powerful mantras that are helping my 1st graders with social and emotional growth.
My students can see themselves in the adorable, relatable illustrations of the children represented in the book.
The book is divided into two parts, “Mantras that Help us Grow” and “Mantras to Help with Situations.” I use the first set of mantras as daily mini lessons to help students with a quick mindfulness exercise.
The second part works perfectly with my calming corner, as I can easily flip to a page when a tough situation arises. Students can quickly identify a specific feeling they are having, and together, we can choose a mantra to help them feel better.
This book is a great tool to help children to understand mindfulness at an early age!
